Easter Fun!

We had a great Easter weekend! The Saturday before, we went with my brother and his family to their church's Easter event. The weather was gorgeous and the kids had a blast! I got some pictures and my sister-in-law sent me some as well. We also had some friends staying with us for a couple of days who tagged along and got some great shots. Thanks, Javi & Christy!

Here's Jonah's cousin emptying his loot!

The impossible dream? Having 3 children look at the camera at the same time and smile. It'll be even more fun when the next one comes this summer!

Jonah did much better with the Easter Bunny than he did with Santa!

He was SOOO excited to ride the "train" (barrel cars pulled by a tractor)! He says he rode it four times but it was really only two. Guess he got the "Naron Exaggeration Gene" that my husband always talks about. : )

He will definitely see this picture when he's older as further proof of how much his Daddy loves him. Jeremy was crammed in the barrel and my niece decided she wanted to ride with him, too. What a guy!
Uncle Stephen also got to shove himself in a seat with his son.
Despite Jonah's lack of expression, I promise you this was his favorite thing!
Oh, and we did hunt Easter eggs!

My favorite:
They had a helicopter egg drop. Jonah liked it but it was awfully bright and windy!

On Easter Sunday, the Easter Bunny brought Jonah a small basket of sports eggs with M&Ms (his favorite candy). We talked about the fact that we celebrate Easter because it was when Jesus made it so that we could go to Heaven. Then we went to church and to Uncle Stephen & Tia Ivette's house for lunch and some more egg hunting fun.

Spring has sprung...

One of the major perks of being married to a teacher is Spring Break!! I was so excited to have Jeremy for a whole week. Jonah loved having Daddy around, too. We spent the first half of the week having fun with family and the second half relaxing in San Antonio (see other post).
The first day of break, we went to my brother's house to hang out with him and his family. This picture does not quite capture the insanity that occurs when these three get together. The cousins are LOUD. Seriously loud. And hyper. It's a blast!
Here they are playing "Aladdin." I think they finally decided that my niece was Jasmine, Jonah was Aladdin and my nephew was Abu.

The next day we went to the Children's Museum with the Naron cousins. It was packed but we were able to have some fun. Jonah especially enjoyed pumping gas into the fire truck.

This pic makes me laugh. He looks like he's frustrated in traffic. Haven't we all been there? ; )

And, of course, my child finds the water. Not just a little, mind you. He managed to stand in front of a giant bucket that tips every few minutes. Silly kid!

That evening, my mom's mom came to visit from Louisiana. Jonah had fun playing with Maw Maw.

San Antonio Trip

For the second half of Spring Break, we went to visit some friends in San Antonio.
On the way there and back, we made our way through the tiny town of Lockhart, Texas. While there's not much to see in Lockhart, the BBQ has a widely known reputation. Being married to the wonderful man I am, this site was immediately made a priority. : )

Our first stop was Black's Barbecue.
If this picture doesn't tell you how good it was, I don't know that my words would do it justice. The brisket is amazing!

While there, Jeremy asked one of the workers where the best spot was to take a picture. The guy told Jeremy to come see him when we were done and he'd take us on a tour of the kitchen. It was really cool (and hot!!)!

New spokesman?
Jonah insisted on seeing this silly fish down the street from the restaurant
We stopped in San Marcos to do a little shopping. This was how Jonah and Daddy "shopped." : )
We finally made it to visit the Chapmans! Here's Jonah swinging with his new friend.

Look at those two cuties!
Why is he so happy? Because he got to play in the water sprinklers!
Mrs. Megan made a delicious green smoothie
Best friends!
Our truck/tractor/anything-with-wheels obsessed boy got to ride on a real front loader!!
In the back of Buck's truck (which I still hear about!).
He got to pet horses and cows!
Our BBQ choice for the trip home. Good food, but I'd recommend Black's instead.
This porkchop w/ sauerkraut was especially tasty, though!
Thanks to the Chapmans for showing us an awesome time!
