Jonah bear trap

So in case you're not familiar with our contraption, I thought I should explain why our children sometimes appear to be in a cage. Calm down. It's not a cage- it's a trap.
A Jonah Bear trap to be precise.
My husband thought up this fantastic use last year over spring break for our wire storage left over from our days in an efficiency apartment.
The kids LOVE this silly thing. It comes and goes throughout the year but it has reclaimed a corner of our living room. For now, anyway...

Sammy- almost 9 months!

This little guy is so busy!
He is constantly pulling up on things and is now somewhat attempting to stand on his own.
He crawls EVERYWHERE, especially toward the dog's bowls and anything made of paper.
He does this funny face where he crinkles his nose and snorts/pants when he's being silly.
He loves to eat! I'm sure you can tell by his rolls but this kiddo does not miss meals.
He gives the open-mouth baby kisses. Love!
He is a very happy baby (until he's tired) and we are all head over heels!

Stealing Daddy's banana

Jonah

Jonah is growing like a weed! I can't believe he'll be 3 in just a few short months!
He had his first dentist visit this month. The dentist said he had perfect teeth! :)

Over spring break, we had a lot of fun. We had a "huge dump truck" bring us a bunch of sand for the backyard. Jonah loved climbing up and sliding down.

He's also enjoying helping Daddy spread it around in the backyard.
We started a garden over spring break
Jonah was very helpful ; )
And we apparently have a pet squirrel in the backyard. Jonah has named her Hazel

We went for a nice walk
This is how I found him sleeping last night. So funny!
He now has a new helmet and bell for bike rides with Daddy
And we painted Daddy a card for his birthday last week
Aside from all this, he is constantly amazing us with his hilarious jokes, stories, and expressions. Some of my faves:
~Using the punchline of the only joke he knows, ("How much does a hipster weight? An instagram") everything weighs "a ipstagram" according to him
~ He uses phrases we apparently say often "I just saw it around here", "Hmmm", "Where could that be?", "For just a few minutes"
~He is constantly hugging the dog and telling him how good he is
~ He used to pitch a fit when we took off a shirt that had a small hole for the head. Now he does so calmly and then tells us "I did not freak out". Ha!

My day in pictures

So our day started with a trip to Kroger with Jonah in his slippers :) Notice Sammy sneaking by? The dog's bowls are right there...
Later that morning Jonah told me he wanted to decorate something with sprinkles. I didn't have any cookies, so I improvised. Presenting frozen chocolate-covered bananas!

He snuck some extra sprinkles when he thought I wasn't looking

Little brother had to get some of the banana!

While Jonah was supposed to be napping, Sam and I played in the living room.

Later we went to chick fil a and I snapped this lovely shot at a light on the way:

Once we got home, I did my best to drain every bit of energy from them.
In all, it was a great day!
