So the day that I was both dreading and looking forward to has come and gone. My sweet baby boy is no longer a baby but has entered into toddlerhood (or toddlerdom??). I am excited, scared, sad, thrilled, and pretty much every other emotion possible. Most of all, however, I am in disbelief. How has it been a year since we brought home this tiny baby? I have enjoyed so many moments- all of the firsts, seeing his sense of humor develop, watching his personality take shape, receiving baby kisses- and also wished for some to pass quickly- his first illness, sleepless nights, sleep training, being unable to put him down for naps. All in all, though, it has been an amazing year. He has become a hilarious, fun-loving, and adventurous little guy!
Just some of the things he's doing these days: making car sounds when he sees a wheel of any kind, trying to say all kinds of words, unrolling toilet paper rolls, climbing anything and everything, using his climbing skills to get anywhere he's not supposed to be, "playing" guitar, pushing around anything that will slide on the carpet, torturing the dog, putting things in containers, taking things out of containers (especially freshly folded laundry), and emptying my tupperware cabinet (a time-honored tradition in our families). He is always learning new things!
Now to the party. I'll have you know that I tried my hardest to only include the best pictures. It was so tough, since he was adorable in every single one!
He woke up from his nap about 15 minutes after the party was supposed to start. Guess he has Aunt Kay's sense of time! : )
Probably my fave:
This was his face while we sang to him. The lights were out and there were camera flashes everywhere but instead of being scared, our little adventurer was excited!
"You mean this is all mine??"

Daddy "helped"
Such a cute, messy baby!
Putting the toy box made by Papa to good use!
"Clothes?? Show me the toys!"- his face says it all!
He had fun opening all his cards and gifts
See the bubble wand in his hands? It has yet to be used for the correct purpose. So far it's been a guitar and a sword to vanquish the dog while squealing mercilessly.
Hat from Aunt Heather
This was taken just before the "Drum Book Incident." Honey got him an adorable book that has a drum you can play. Cousin Morgan decided it looked cool, too. She made a beeline for the book and proceeded to ever-so-sneakily slide it away from Jonah's reach and cover up the drum so he couldn't play! The adults thought it was hysterical. Just wait 'til they're older...
