Picture Time!

Jonah will be 2 in less than a week (!!) and we have an adorable new baby, so today we went to take pictures. This is no small undertaking when you have children of any age. I was expecting at least one meltdown and a large amount of stress. I was pleasantly surprised, however, that we were able to get out of there with no tears AND a bunch of adorable pics of our boys! It may have helped that we practiced with Jonah the night before : )
Here are some of my faves:

Jonah's "cheese" face. Silly kid!
We didn't get this one because, honestly, he looked too old! You're breaking Mommy's heart, kid!
 Again with the "cheese"
I call this one "Sammy's grumpy old man face"
 Sweet baby

Our adorable boys! Such a proud big brother!

 "Handsome"

Two years old already?!? He was just Samuel's age, like, yesterday!

Okay, so they're not always completely photogenic...
 ...But they sure are cute!
These were probably my faves. I LOVE the little hat!

We are so in love with our boys!! Jonah is growing up so fast and is turning into a sweet, smart, funny, and unbelievably talkative and active little boy! Samuel is constantly getting bigger and more alert. Crazy baby is already turning on his side and raising his head like a champ! Sure, we're sleep deprived and busy, but we wouldn't change it for the world!

Sammy's Here!

July 1 was a crazy day. I woke up with light contractions. Remembering that I had light contractions for a number of hours with my first labor, I headed to church and even played piano in the service! We had our annual 4th of July meal at church. About 12:30, my contractions got stronger and I informed Jeremy that it was time to go home. We got to the house and while Jeremy was putting Jonah down for his nap, I was laboring in the bedroom, timing the contractions. I texted my mom to come over to stay with Jonah and told Jeremy we needed to go to the hospital. We arrived at about 2:45 with hard labor. By 3:36, I was holding our new son!
We're all doing great. So far, Samuel is an easy baby, giving two 3-4 hour stretches between night feedings. Jeremy and I really appreciate the rest!
Jonah is in love with his brother. Every morning he asks where he is and he's always giving him kisses or turning on the swing for him.
Life is good!

When asked why he was at the hospital, Jonah lifted his shirt and said, "To get the baby out."

Meeting baby brother. Jonah was showing us where he was going to kiss him.

Yes, we're still alive!

I've just been really bad about updating!! Oops!
We have definitely been busy. Jonah is non-stop entertainment and Baby #2 is non-stop growing and kicking. As of now, I am just about 38 weeks along. Since Jonah was exactly 2 weeks early, there's a good chance it could be any time now. Jonah is somewhat adjusting to the idea. He now picks up my shirt and tells the baby "Want to come out." Very fun in mixed company. ; )
Some of the things our almost 2 (!!) year old is up to:
This is his "cheese" face. It is adorable but not quite the smile I always want!

Jonah put this bucket on his head one day and said "Jonah playing Texans!" Apparently he thinks himself a quarterback.

One day Jonah followed Daddy to the bathroom while Daddy was shaving. Apparently Daddy didn't notice that Jonah had taken the dry erase marker and "shaved" his face as well. This kid requires 24 hour watch!!

Jonah's Big Bro shirt from Tia Ivette and Aunt Kay at the baby shower. He definitely takes after his handsome Daddy!

I tell Jeremy all the time that I'm glad Jonah has both of us. For instance, when he is covered in his latest meal, I would not have the idea to take him in the backyard and hose him down, chair and all.

For the first year or so that Jonah had these glasses, he refused to keep them on for more than 10 minutes; however, one day he decided he did not want to take them off. Such a cool dude!

He recently went through a phase of about 2 weeks where he was unbelievably cranky after naps. Nothing would make him happy. This is one of the last of those days when a smoothie seemed to be just the trick.

Have I mentioned that he is SUCH a boy?? Trucks, tools, and anything messy. Love it!

He is still very much an outside kid and a water baby. Most of the time he goes in the backyard with Daddy, he mysteriously ends up soaked. Hmmm...

His quote? "Jonah is Moses". I will point out that this was just before he dropped the pvc pipe on Jeremy's foot.

I saw a quote the other day that said, "My father didn't tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it." I feel like that totally sums up Jeremy & Jonah. : )

Apparently Jonah's not the only one growing! Even my maternity tops are getting too small!

Jonah's getting ready! I think it may be difficult for him to wait a few weeks before giving the baby a bottle. I know he'll be a good helper, though.

So as much as Jonah is like his Daddy, this picture could have been taken straight from my scrapbook as a kid. I guess he has some of my genes after all!

Jonah and his Secret Agent cousin. They have a blast together!

This pic of Jonah and his younger cousin cracks me up. I can just hear Jonah saying, "Kid, here's how we're gonna do it."

My little cutie at Vacation Bible School

Mommy has Bible study on Thursday nights, so Daddy and Jonah went to Uncle Stephen's house to swim and eat. Jonah had a blast!

More cousin fun
